Fun Curling Workshop
Curling is a precision sport similar to bowling, petanque, and bocce. However, it is played on ice with heavy “stones” instead of balls. Generally believed to have been invented in 16th-century Scotland, though Bruegel’s painting Hunters in the Snow (1565) shows Dutch farmers playing the game. Modern curling was developed in Scotland and became an official Olympic winter sport in 1998.
This workshop has a relaxed, playful, and fun character where teamwork is central. You may have seen it on TV, the Olympic team sport with stones and brooms.
The goal is to get as many of your stones closer to the center of the HOUSE (target circle) than your opponent. After theory, we first teach basic curling techniques and practice them. Then a fun competition between 2 teams is held.
We organize a rotation program on one or more rinks where teams alternate matches. It’s up to your team to strategize! Which team will be crowned “Top Curling Team”?
More fun and team building?
- Curling Quiz (since 2011, inspired by TV show presented by Frans Bauer). After intro and practice, teams are tested on winter quiz questions. Correct answers earn points; curling stones in the HOUSE earn bonus points. The team with the most points wins.
- Our hilarious Ice Games are suitable for large groups, 1–2 hour fun teambuilding on ice: Fun Curling, Human Bowling, Human Curling, Traditional Dutch Sledge.

Which ice rinks (and times)?
In the south of the Netherlands, we have been active since 2011 at (indoor) ice rinks in Eindhoven, Den Bosch, Tilburg, Breda, and Geleen. Since 2015, we have expanded our ice rink market and now also visit ice rinks in Dordrecht, Utrecht, Nijmegen, Deventer, and several ice rinks in Belgium.
Click here for an overview of all the ice rinks we visit. If you are looking for an experienced team building and workshop facilitator to organize Curling or Ice Games at another location, please contact us!
Some ice rinks are open for a long season (from September through June), while others have a shorter season from October (Autumn holiday) through March (Spring break). During the Christmas period, many temporary ice rinks are set up in cities and towns, usually for about a month. We also regularly visit these rinks, such as in Valkenswaard, Oirschot, and at the Parade in Den Bosch. We recommend providing us with several preferred dates and two location preferences, after which we will check availability for you.
